ESS Nabs English Football Rights in Asia

SINGAPORE: ESPN Star Sports has secured the exclusive broadcast rights to Barclays Premier League on multiple platforms in markets across Asia, including India, while in Malaysia and Brunei it is sharing the games with Astro.

The ESS deal covers 18 markets across Asia: India, Indonesia, East Timor, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, North & South Korea, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and, in conjunction with pay-TV platform Astro, Malaysia and Brunei.

All 380 BPL rights will air live across multiple platforms, including TV, the Internet and mobile, with up to 190 on a VOD basis.
