21st Century Fox Taps News Corp Exec as CTO

NEW YORK: 21st Century Fox has appointed Paul Cheesbrough, who joins the company from News Corp, as chief technology officer.

In his new role, Cheesbrough will lead the company-wide information-technology strategy. He will also be influential in driving the company’s investments in technology, platforms and systems on a global basis. Cheesbrough will report to Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch and CEO James Murdoch. The enterprise technology leaders from Fox Networks Group, Twentieth Century Fox Film and Fox News Channel will report to Cheesbrough.

Cheesbrough served as CTO for News Corp since 2012. In that position, he led the company’s technology teams and propelled the digital transformation across its businesses. Before that, Cheesbrough held executive technology leadership positions at News Corp’s U.K. business News UK, Telegraph Media Group, the BBC and IBM. He also currently serves as chairman of Unruly Media.
