2025 International Emmy Winners Announced

At the 2025 International Emmy Awards ceremony, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented best drama to Disney+’s Rivals and best kids’ animation to Ludo Studio’s Bluey.

“In a world that often feels uncertain, television continues to serve as a powerful force for connection across cultures and borders,” said Bruce L. Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy. “This year’s winners, spanning the globe from Japan and Germany to Australia and Türkiye, reflect the extraordinary diversity of voices and the outstanding programs and performances that define the very best of global television.”

For live-action kids’ programs, Fallen, from Night Train Media, Silver Reel, Hero Squared and UMedia, won. The award for best kids’ factual and entertainment went to Auf Fritzis Spuren—Wie war das so in der DDR? (On Fritzi’s Traces—What Was it Like in the GDR?), from Balance Film, MDR and WDR.

The documentary award was presented to Expectation TV’s Hell Jumper. Basement Films’ Dispatches: Kill Zone: Inside Gaza took home the award for best current affairs program, while Al Jazeera Arabic Programs Directorate’s Gaza, Search for Life was awarded best news program. The Netflix documentary It’s All Over: The Kiss That Changed Spanish Football, from You First Originals Production, was the top sports documentary.

Metronome Productions, Banijay and TV 2 Danmark’s Shaolin Heroes: Denmark was given the award for non-scripted entertainment. Ay Yapim’s Deha (The Good & The Bad) took the top prize in the telenovela category.

Best short-form series went to KOTV’s La Médiatrice (The Mediator), and best TV movie/mini-series went to Duck Soup Films’ Lost Boys & Fairies.

Ludwig, from Big Talk Studios and That Mitchell & Webb Company, won the comedy award.

In the performance categories, the actor award went to Oriol Pal for his role in Alea Media and Disney+’s Yo, adicto (I, Addict), while the actress award went to Anna Maxwell Martin for World Productions’ Until I Kill You.
