LOS ANGELES: Karga Seven Pictures has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Brett Boydstun as the senior VP of production and Michael Gara making the transition to senior VP and head of development.

Gara formerly served as senior VP of programming. He joined Karga Seven Pictures in 2015 from his position as VP of development at Endemol Shine Group, where he developed projects for a range of networks, including AMC, CBS Syndication, NBC, E!, SundanceTV, Syfy, VH1 and WE tv.

“When Michael joined us a year ago his presence was immediately felt,” said Emre Sahin, co-founder of Karga. “His creative vision and leadership were instrumental in seeing us through our busiest year on record. His move into development just makes sense. There has always been overlap between the departments and now he’ll have an even more direct impact as we head into Karga’s next phase.”

“It’s been a great year for me at Karga,” said Gara. “There’s nothing better than working in such a creative environment and with an incredibly talented team that really cares about making the best content possible. This is such an exciting time for the company and I’m thrilled to help write the next chapter.”

Boydstun, meanwhile, spent 13 years at Pilgrim Studios, where he held several roles, including senior VP of production finance and operations. His film credits include 10 Things I Hate About You, Jack Frost and Jurassic Park 3, among others.

“We are also happy to welcome Brett to Karga,” said Kelly McPherson, co-founder of Karga. “It’s truly a privilege to be working with someone of Brett’s caliber and experience. He’s a tremendous asset for our team as we move ahead with our biggest and most ambitious production slate yet.”

“I am thrilled to join the team at Karga Seven Pictures,” added Boydstun. “Working in a collaborative environment with such a creative group of people is both refreshing and invigorating. The partners at Karga have created an extraordinary company that I look forward to working with as they continue to bring quality programming to air.”

Karga Seven Pictures is a Red Arrow Entertainment Group company.
