DreamWorks Channel Reaches South Korea

GLENDALE/SEOUL: DreamWorks Channel is rolling out in South Korea, which becomes the sixth Asian territory to debut the kids’ network.

The deal between DreamWorks Animation and KT will see the channel launch in South Korea on May 3, following launches in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia. The initial lineup will feature hit animated kids’ shows such as DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge and Dinotrux, with All Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Dawn of the Croods and The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show also due to launch on DreamWorks Channel.

DreamWorks Channel will also offer a daily morning preschool block, DreamWorks Junior, featuring Raa Raa the Noisy Lion and Guess with Jess. The channel will be available to all KT subscribers with the lowest tier package. An SVOD offering will also launch concurrently with the linear channel, with series available in the local Korean language, dubbed and subtitled, as well as in English, dubbed and subtitled. HBO Asia is managing affiliate sales, marketing and technical services for the new channel.
