CANNES: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has unveiled its new “Format Factory,” an incubator meant to develop several new formats for the international marketplace.

There are six formats being presented at MIPCOM for licensing and development from the Factory. Screening sessions are being held in the Zee Bollyworld Preview Theatre located within ZEE’s booth.

Zee’s unscripted formats include Dance India Dance, in which contestants are judged by leading Bollywood choreographers on their dance skills. Meanwhile, Moksha is a brand-new game show requiring strategy, luck and skill. In the scripted arena, highlights include Phantasmagoria, a series of 12 wickedly twisted short stories, and The Eclipse Harvest, a high-octane crime series about the NYPD Organized Crime Control Bureau. Two additional scripted formats in the comedy genre are Hum Paanch (Five Is A Crowd) and Kareena Kareena.

Sunita Uchil, the company’s chief business officer for international ad sales, global syndication and production, said, “Zee has a rich history of developing and producing programs with universal themes that are adaptable to all regions of the world. We are excited to be hosting buyers and showcasing our new formats, as well as our popular dance based reality show Dance India Dance, at our Zee Bollyworld Preview Theatre. Zee Bollyworld promises buyers a true immersive experience at MIPCOM 2016.”
