Warner Bros. International Television Production Spain (WBITVP Spain) has been commissioned by Atresmedia to produce a local treatment of Game of Games for Antena 3, marking the format’s first international version.

Comedian and actress Silvia Abril will host the Spanish show, in which contestants are picked from the audience to play super-sized, one-of-a-kind physical games, competing for a cash prize. WBITVP’s international rollout of the format follows the success of the U.S. version, Ellen’s Game of Games, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, for NBC. The U.S. series has been recommissioned for a 13-episode second season.

Carmen Ferreiro, Atresmedia Television’s entertainment programs director, commented: “Game of Games is pure entertainment and, with its spectacle and humor, is a perfect fit for Atresmedia.”

Andrew Zein, the senior VP of creative, format development and sales at WBITVP, added: “We’re thrilled to announce Antena 3 as our first broadcast partner for Game of Games and we look forward to bringing this hugely successful show to Spanish audiences.”
