Endemol Shine Italy is making a new crime drama for Rai 1 about two teen girls who disappear from a seaside town.

Missing will consist of 12 episodes in its first season and is slated to premiere later this year. Rai 1 is also on board a seventh season of Endemol Shine Italy’s crime comedy The Teacher, based on Margherita Oggero’s best-selling novels, and a second season of The Good Apprentice, based on Alessia Gazzola’s novels.

The new commissions come on the heels of the success of the six-part drama Sisters on Rai 1—the finale attracted 6.2 million viewers and a 27.1 percent share.

At commercial broadcaster Canale 5, meanwhile, Endemol Shine Italy is producing ten new episodes of Tuscan Passion.

Paolo Bassetti, CEO of Endemol Shine Italy, noted, “Scripted programming plays a significant role in our business and we are thrilled to announce our latest new dramas for Rai 1 and Canale 5. We already have proven success in this genre.”

Massimo Del Frate, head of drama of Endemol Shine Italy, added, “Over the years, we have expanded our scripted production creating some of the most appealing multi-season brands for the different audiences of our national broadcasters. We hope these high-quality productions will still leave viewers gripped.”
