Blue Ant Elevates Jamie Schouela to Head Up Canadian Media

Blue Ant Media has promoted Jamie Schouela to the post of president of Canadian media.

In his new role, Schouela will continue to oversee the strategic direction and operations of Blue Ant Media’s Canadian brands, including Love Nature, BBC Earth, Cottage Life, T+E, A.Side, Makeful, Smithsonian Channel Canada and HIFI. Schouela’s portfolio includes multiplatform content development, original content commissioning, programming acquisitions and distribution across TV, digital and print, as well as the marketing, publicity, media sales and Blue Ant Plus arms of the division. He also oversees relationships with all of Blue Ant Media’s national cable, IPTV and satellite partners.

Schouela joined Blue Ant Media in 2013 as the executive VP of marketing and communications. In that role, he managed all of the consumer and trade promotions for Blue Ant Media’s portfolio of brands across Canada and led the launches of Cottage Life Television, Smithsonian Channel Canada and Makeful. Schouela was also a key player in the rebrand of Oasis to Love Nature. In 2015, Schouela was promoted to the executive VP of Canadian media.

“Jamie has a proven track record in building and growing premium multiplatform brands, a true passion for media and ability to manage and inspire large teams across many functions,” said Michael MacMillan, the CEO of Blue Ant Media. “I’m delighted to announce his promotion, highlighting his ongoing success leading our Canadian operations as we move into 2018.”
