Zucker Extends Contract Through 2013

NEW YORK: Jeff Zucker, who was recently named CEO of the new Comcast/GE joint venture, has signed a three-year contract with NBC Universal to stay on through 2013, according to reports.

Last week, Comcast and GE formally announced their agreement to form a joint venture—consisting of NBC Universal, Comcast’s cable nets, regional sports channels and some digital properties. The deal for the JV could take between 12 and 18 months to gain regulatory approval, however. This would allow Zucker to run the new NBC Universal for at least another year and a half.
