Zone Reality Preps Pilot for Stupid Laws

LONDON, April 23: Zone
Reality has commissioned British indie Rival Media to produce a pilot for a new
reality series titled Stupid Laws,
to be distributed by Zone Distribution.

The pilot will go into
production in late spring, and will be broadcast across Zone Reality’s
international feeds, with a full series anticipated for future rollout. The
show looks to uncover the most obscure laws in the U.S., and will feature local
people and law-enforcement agencies to explain them.

Steve Cole, the senior VP of channels at Chello Zone, commented: “We’re
really excited to be working with Rival Media—one of the hottest new
indies around—and we’re delighted to have commissioned this
groundbreaking new pilot. We believe Stupid Laws will sit
well in our Zone Reality schedules and will have strong appeal among our
international audiences.”

Howard Myers, the joint managing director of Rival Media, added, “It’s
great to be working with Zone Reality’s commissioning team, which has really
seen the opportunity for a show of this kind. We’re sure Stupid Laws has huge
potential to become an international franchise, as so many countries throughout
the world have crazy laws that we’d like to expose!”
