LONDON: Zodiak Kids’ live-action show Summer In Transylvania’s distribution has been expanded to Nickelodeon channels across Europe.

Summer in Transylvania originally ran in the U.K., but will now be airing in Germany, Italy, Benelux, the Nordic region, Spain and Portugal. Nickelodeon has the rights to 20 30-minute episodes. The story is about a girl named Summer, who is forced to adjust to the zombies, werewolves, vampires and mummies around her after her family moves to Transylvania.

It was developed and written by Andy Watts, creator of the popular British sitcom My Parents Are Aliens.

“After its U.K. premiere, we are delighted to be working with Nickelodeon again to roll out Summer in Transylvania to a host of new territories,” said Karen Vermeulen, the senior VP of global sales and co-production at Zodiak Kids. “This new and exciting show taps into kids’ universal love of everything supernatural, which I am sure will be a hit with Nickelodeon viewers.”
