What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

At MIP Junior, Zinkia is screening a new comedy adventure series called Mola Noguru. Aimed at 3- to 5-year-olds, this colorful animated adventure series shows kids, in a fun and fresh way, about fundamental values such as sharing, caring and thinking things through.

Set in an exciting world of new experiences, where magic exists and anything can happen, it tracks the adventures of a bright and spontaneous little girl called Yoyomi and her two best friends Baba, who’s rather emotional and impulsive, and Julio the robot, who’s a genius.

Zinkia’s multi-award winning TV series Pocoyo, co-produced with ITV Global Entertainment, is also a priority property at MIPCOM. The animated series has already been licensed to over 100 countries, but new broadcasters and partners from around the world continue to sign up for more Pocoyo.

The latest brand extension is Pocoyo World, a huge virtual universe where kids and parents can share a wealth of experiences and adventures with their favourite characters. The new online community, launching in October ’09, offers a host of educational activities, games, music, dance and episodes, all with the simple objective: learning through laughter.

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?
Quality animation, quality scripts and a proven track record!
Zinkia is a multi-award-winning studio which has won a host of accolades both for its TV series, multi-player console and online games, and as a creative studio. If buyers are looking for quality, creativity and innovation, Zinkia should be a top priority animation company to see at MIPCOM.
Also, Zinkia’s programmes appeal because they are created with extensive multi-platform potential; as proven with Pocoyo, Zinkia creates global brands, not just TV programs.

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?
In a market which is experiencing a downturn in advertising, buyers appear to be cautious and discerning in their acquisition choices. Quality therefore becomes a key requisite, as does the proven track record. It goes without saying, that a property has to have multi-platform potential and universal appeal.

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM?

At MIPCOM we’re looking to secure international pre-ales for our new pre-school comedy adventure series Mola Noguru. The pilot episode, which has already attracted a great deal of interest, is going to be screened at MIP Junior. We hope buyers fall in love with it as much as we have!

Is there any other information you would like to share regarding your plans for MIPCOM?

MIPCOM is important for Zinkia, because it is the first TV event we have attended since the company floated, on the alternative Spanish stock market MAB, (Mercado Alternativo Bursatil), in the Growth Companies sector. The company floated successfully in July 2009, making it the first company to be listed in this sector.
