YouTube Unveils Cartoon from Robot Chicken Producers

YouTube Red has revealed details for the new outer-space adventure comedy Dallas & Robo, which comes from Shadowmachine (Robot Chicken, BoJack Horseman) and will feature the voices of WWE’s John Cena and Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls), among others.

Dallas & Robo follows a sassy space trucker and a self-proclaimed warrior-poet as they encounter cannibal bikers, rival space truckers and more in the shady world of interplanetary big-rigging. The eight-episode YouTube Red original will also include the voices of Jane Lynch, Dana Snyder, Giancarlo Esposito, Clancy Brown, Bree Williamson, Nat Faxon, Taran Killam and Milana Vayntraub. It is due to debut exclusively on the streaming service next year.

Dallas & Robo was created by Mike Roberts (Final Space), who also serves as an executive producer on the series alongside Cena and writers Matt Mariska (Robot Chicken) and Andy Sipes (Archer).

“With Kat Dennings and John Cena bringing these animated characters to life, I have no doubt viewers are going to have fun watching this imaginative new outer-space comedy from Shadowmachine,” said Susanne Daniels, the global head of original content at YouTube.

“I’m thrilled to join Kat and the rest of this fantastic voice cast for Dallas & Robo,” added Cena. “The writing for this series is flat-out funny and very creative, and I’m really looking forward to being a part of such a unique, entertaining project.”
