Your Mama Don’t Dance Gets Italian Iteration

LONDON: Disney-ABC-ESPN Television has licensed the reality format Your Mama Don’t Dance to Italy’s Sky Uno for a local version, airing under the title Vuoi Ballare con me?

The series is set for an 11-episode prime-time run. The show kicked off on April 16 on Sky Uno and more than doubled the channel’s average ratings in its time slot. Daily behind-the-scenes episodes are also featured in Sky Uno’s daytime grid. Dancer, singer and actress Lorella Cuccarini serves as host for the show, which invites the the country’s best dancers to team up with their parents for a competition on the dance floor.

Naomi Joseph, the executive director of format development for Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, commented: "Your Mama Don’t Dance is a heart-warming show with truly universal appeal and I am thrilled to be working with Sky Uno to bring the format to a new audience. Local productions of the show have proved hugely popular on both Turkey’s Show TV and on RTP in Portugal, attracting audiences across key demographics. This deal illustrates our commitment to developing local productions of both reality and scripted formats, in order to further build upon our relationships with international audiences."
