Youku.com to Broadcast FIFA 2010 Matches Online in China

BEIJING: FIFA and state broadcaster CCTV have jointly granted the Chinese video site Youku.com the online broadcast rights to all FIFA 2010 matches.

A new World Cup Channel on Youku.com will be dedicated to the broadcast of all matches as well as interactive activities. Programming will not only include match play, but also an extensive collection of highlights, background information on teams and more. The Youku World Cup Channel will also present all FIFA-related programming that’s airing on CCTV. During the FIFA season, Youku will welcome the participation of experts, entertainment stars and well-known figures fromt he world of sports to interact with Youku users.

Youku also announced plans to host a conference in the near future, where it will invite brand advertisers and partners to discuss the best ways to use the Youku World Cup Channel for building brand value and for developing optimal content.
