LOS ANGELES: The commercial production company XOVR has relaunched as Envision Media Arts, with a greater focus on movies and television, kicking off its new endeavor with the feature film Chained.

Envision’s self-financed feature film Chained is a psychological thriller about a young man who was abducted as a child and now is wrestling with following in the footsteps of his kidnapper. Principal photography begins in June. Anchor Bay is attached as the U.S. theatrical distributor.

As part of its relaunch, Envision has made two key hires. David Buelow is to serve as president of film and TV, while Andrew Halpern serves as president of commercial production. In his new role, Buelow will oversee business and creative aspects of the company’s feature film and TV programming. He joins Envision from Brookwell McNamara Entertainment (BME), where he served as president and produced such films as Bring it On: Fight to the Finish, Into the Blue 2: The Reef and Legally Blondes. Halpern will work to help develop innovative production solutions for directors, agency producers and creatives. Previously, Halpern has worked with such production companies as RSA, MJZ, Chelsea and Plum.

“Envision Media Arts is proud of its ten-year tradition and excited to move forward with an increased focus on film and television,” said Lee Nelson, Envision’s president and CEO. “Buelow and Halpern both bring experience that will be integral to the company’s continued growth and success.”
