Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? to Relaunch in Romania

LONDON: Sony Pictures Television’s 2waytraffic has scored a commission to relaunch the format Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in Romania, with Kanal D ordering 36 episodes.

The show will play out over three weeks on Kanal D, which will bring the series back toward the end of the summer. Virgil Iantu is likely to host the Kanal D version, having also hosted the previous edition when it was on Prima. Zucchero Media will produce it locally.

2waytraffic is exploring opportunities to launch Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? iPhone apps in Eastern European territories, including Poland and Russia, to support the TV franchise. 2waytraffic already operates premium rate SMS games for the show in Russia, Poland and Macedonia, among other territories.
