WBITD Names New SVP for Latin America

BURBANK/MIAMI: In his new role as senior VP and general manager for Latin America at Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD), John Garcia will be responsible for all the company’s program licensing activities in region, along with supervising the sales team.

Garcia will oversee the sale of series, theatrical motion pictures, animated product and TV movies to all free- and pay-TV outlets over terrestrial, cable, satellite and emerging platforms, such as IPTV. He will also handle the licensing of current programming and titles from the Warner Bros. Entertainment library to select clients in the areas of ad-supported and subscription-based VOD. He is based in Miami, and reports to Jim Brehm, the senior VP of sales for Canada, Latin America and Asia at WBITD.

Prior to his promotion, Garcia served as VP and general manager for Latin America. Before this, he was deputy managing director of WBITD’s sales office in Madrid. He was previously director of sales and business development for Portugal and Spain, on behalf of both WBITD and Turner Entertainment Channels in Madrid. He joined WBITD in 1998 as a global management trainee at the company’s Burbank, California, headquarters.
