Warner Bros. Titles Join Virgin Media’s On-Demand Service

LONDON, February 20:
Warner Bros. will deliver more than 500 episodes from several current and
classic dramas and comedies, including Nip/Tuck, The OC, Friends and ER, to Virgin Media’s TV-on-demand (TVoD) service.

The deal will make the
Warner Bros. content available to more than 3 million cable customers, and
follows Virgin Media’s alliances with Channel 4, HBO, Buena Vista and Alliance
Atlantis. Initially, episodes from some of the top Warner Bros. series will be
made available on Virgin Central, Virgin Media's new TVoD-enabled channel that
launched today. The agreement also includes the provision of high-definition
versions of the programs in the future.

Steve Burch, the president
and CEO of Virgin Media, noted, “This is our biggest content investment. The
agreement will add hundreds of hours of must-see shows to our on-demand
library, which customers can easily access and control at any time of day or
night."
