Warner Bros. Brings Content to UTV Channels

MUMBAI: Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has signed a deal with the broadcasting arm of UTV to bring blockbuster films like The Lord of the Rings and The Dark Knight to UTV Action and UTV Action Telugu.

The new multi-year exclusive deal brings the action channels UTV Action and UTV Action Telugu some 60 titles and 50 titles a year, respectively, from the Warner Bros. library. Movies covered under the deal include Shoot Them Up, Most Wanted, Cradle to the Grave, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Get Smart and more.

Manasi Sapre, the programming head of UTV Action and UTV Action Telugu, said, “UTV Action and Action Telugu are known to bring the best of Hollywood Action to the viewers. Taking forward this proposition we are proud to be associated with one of Hollywood’s biggest studio Warner Bros. The studio has some of the best action films in their library and this association will create fast access for Indian viewers to this content.”

“We are very happy to have concluded this deal to bring our films to the Indian audience via UTV Action and UTV Action Telugu,” added Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, the president of Warner Bros. International Television.
