W Network Offers Up Women’s Survival Guide

TORONTO, July 21: This fall, the female-targeted W Network
in Canada will launch the new original series The Smart Woman Survival Guide, a scripted comedy and lifestyle series hybrid.

The 26×30-minute series—already commissioned for a
second season in advance of its September 4 launch—combines real world
tips on cooking, finance, fashion, entertaining and more, with the sitcom
format.

The series goes behind the scenes of a fictional lifestyle
show called Smart Woman, following the
team of women who produce the show and have to cope with their high-maintenance
boss.

Maria Armstrong, director of original programming at W
Network, noted, “This highly original scripted comedy gives our viewers what
they have been looking for while redefining lifestyle television.”

Allan Magee, the president of producer Magee TV and creator
of the show, added, “Audiences will relate to the show’s lead characters who
epitomize real women trying to juggle work and life, while offering both
helpful and hilarious insights into the rigors of coping with everyday
existence. It’s fast, factual and funny and we are thrilled to be working on a
second season.”
