Virgin1 Picks Up Adventure Reality Series from NBCU

LONDON, July 3: Virgin1
has acquired seasons one and two of the truth-seeking reality series The
Monster Hunter
from NBC Universal
International Television Distribution for its mid-summer prime-time schedule.

Presented by adventurer
Josh Gates, The Monster Hunter investigates
stories of the unexplained, separating fact from fiction. Each week, the series
will head to a different international destination that is alleged to be the
home of a supernatural or mysterious creature in a bid to try and prove or
disprove its existence. Originally called Destination Truth, the series airs on SCI FI Channel in the U.S.

Amy Barham, the head of
acquisitions for Virgin Media Television, said, “The series will absolutely
complement Virgin1’s summer schedule with its unique, gonzo exploration of
thrill-seeking Indiana Jones-style
adventures, and is a perfect example of intelligent, accessible and thrilling
programming which embodies the spirit of the channel.”
