Virgin America, Current TV Announce In-flight Partnership

BURLINGAME, July 24: The new U.S. airline Virgin America,
which will start domestic service on August 8, has reached a deal to feature an
exclusive content channel from the San Francisco-based young adult-targeted
Current TV on Red, its in-flight entertainment system.

The new channel from Current TV, designed for an 18-34 year
old audience, will feature viewer-created content that will range from coverage
of trends in technology, fashion, music and video games to programming on
climate change and other pressing social issues. Current is the first network
in history whose programming is supplied in part by the very audience who
watches it. One-third of Current's on-air broadcast is comprised of
viewer-created content. The channel allows the audience to submit short-form,
nonfiction video "pods," "viewer created ads" (V-CAMs), and
mobile video. Current is available in 50 million households in the U.S. and the
U.K. via Comcast, Time Warner Cable, DIRECTV, DISH Network, BSkyB and Virgin
Media Cable.

"We're thrilled to be able to offer our guests an
exclusive Virgin America Current TV channel," said Charles Ogilvie, Virgin
America's director of inflight entertainment and partnerships. "Current
TV's content is cutting-edge, engaging and cool and the Current production team
did an incredible job designing content to take full advantage of the 9"
inch screens on Red."
