LONDON: A new multiyear pact sees 3Vision Distribution representing the British music and pop-culture channel Vintage TV, aimed at the 50-plus demographic, for expansion across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The channel launched in September 2010 on Sky and Freesat in the U.K. Discussions are already under way to bring the channel into France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Turkey.

“We were encouraged to take the channel out internationally because of the amount of positive response we received from viewers and businesses saying how much they enjoyed the channel,” said David Pick, Vintage TV’s chief executive.

â€¨â€¨“It’s particularly gratifying to see international interest in the channel after we identified the demand for such a concept in the U.K.”

“There’s no channel like it in Europe and because most of the content does not need to be customized for each market, we can take it into new territories quickly. We can also make it easily available across multiple platforms—as a traditional linear channel, by VOD as well as on mobile and online," Pick continued. “I’m sure 3Vision Distribution’s many years of experience and knowledge of the markets and platforms across EMEA will stand us in good stead as we look to extend our reach across the globe.”

Jade Webster, 3Vision Distribution’s sales manager, added: “3Vision Distribution are very pleased to be working with the Vintage TV team as the channel embarks on the next leg of its expansion. Brilliant music resonates in all markets. We are already having many positive conversations, which bodes well for a successful entry for Vintage TV in key EMEA territories.”
