Video Interview: Mentorn International’s David Leach

NEW YORK: David Leach, the managing director of Mentorn International, discusses the expansion of the company’s slate, the challenges of operating in the British media landscape today and plans for further building the company’s U.S. business.

Best known for its factual, factual entertainment and reality brands—including the hit An Idiot Abroad, recently renewed for a second season—Mentorn International is making a big push into the drama arena. The distribution outfit has access to a broad array of content from its fellow Tinopolis Group-owned companies, including Pioneer Productions and Daybreak Pictures. From Daybreak, Mentorn has been highlighting two productions for Channel 4: The Promise, a headline-generating drama set against the backdrop of the Israel-Palestine conflict, and Sirens, which has already clinched a deal to be piloted for the U.S. (by Denis Leary for USA Network) ahead of its U.K. debut.
