Video Interview: Mad Men’s Jon Hamm & Elisabeth Moss

NEW YORK: Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss, stars of the critically acclaimed AMC original Mad Men, recently spoke to World Screen about the complicated characters they play and about their relationship with the show’s creator, showrunner, executive producer and head writer, the Emmy-winning Matt Weiner.

Mad Men wrapped its fourth season on AMC on Sunday night. Produced by Lionsgate, the series, set in a fictional 1960s ad agency, has steadily become a pop-culture phenomenon since its quiet premiere in 2007. While its U.S. ratings have been modest in comparison with bigger cable and broadcast network series, the show is among the most talked-about productions on American TV, and has carved out a solid following overseas (in the U.K., Sky recently outbid the BBC to score the rights to air season five). The only basic-cable series to have ever won the Emmy for best drama three years in a row, Mad Men has made a star out of its lead, Hamm, who plays the enigmatic Don Draper. Hamm, together with co-star Moss (Mad Men’s secretary-turned-copywriter Peggy Olson) sat down with World Screen in this video interview.
