Viasat to Launch IPTV in Denmark

STOCKHOLM, September 29: Modern Times Group’s Viasat
Broadcasting is working with Danish broadband network operator Dansk Bredband
to distribute its channels over IPTV.

The move follows the successful launch of similar IPTV
offerings in Sweden and Norway in 2004 and 2005. Dansk Bredband subscribers can
subscribe to the new service for 299 Danish Krona per month. The IPTV offering
will deliver the Viasat Gold package of 50 channels and the Electronic Program
Guide (EPG). Viasat and Dansk Bredband will launch the service and begin delivery
of new set-top boxes on November 1.

Hans-Holger Albrecht, the president and CEO of MTG,
commented, “Dansk Bredband is one of the leading broadband network operators in
Denmark and therefore the ideal partner for the further expansion of our IPTV
offering. Viasat is the largest broadband TV broadcaster in the Nordic region
and this agreement further strengthens our position. The delivery of content
via broadband is expected to grow rapidly moving forward, and we are committed
to making our channels broadly available through as many technologies and
platforms as possible.”
