Venezuela’s Chavez Accuses CNN of Inciting his Assassination

CARACAS, November 29:
After CNN en Español mistakenly ran the caption, “Who Killed Him?” under a video
of Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president called for an investigation into CNN,
claiming the channel is trying to incite his assassination.

CNN apologized, citing a
technical mix-up that placed the caption in a story about a spat between Chavez
and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe instead of in a news story about
Washington Redskins football star Sean Taylor, who was shot earlier this week
in his Florida home.

As AP reports, Chavez has
recently warned that his opponents are using "psychological warfare"
in the run up to the referendum Sunday on a slate of proposed changes to the
Venezuelan constitution, including measures that would let him seek unlimited
re-election and strengthen his plan to move Venezuela toward socialism.
