MIAMI/CANNES: Venevision International has clinched a deal to provide Spanish-language programming to the Canadian network Telelatino through 2014.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the MIPTV convention than with the signing of this contract with Telelatino,” said Manuel Perez, the VP and CFO of Venevision International. “We are confident this is a positive sign of what’s to come in this market. This provides us the motivation and enthusiasm to continue our monumental task of increasing our presence in international markets, be it with the products from our production companies, Venevision in Venezuela and Venevision Productions in Miami [Florida, U.S.A.], as from the independent producers we represent.”

“This pact fortifies our relationship with Telelatino, to who for years we have provided television programming with much success in its market,” stated Cesar Diaz, the VP of sales at Venevision International. “With this accord we venture on a new and greater association between the two companies for the enjoyment of all the Latin television viewers in Canada.”

Telelatino’s president, Aldo Di Felice, commented: “Venevision International has been a longtime supplier partner to us and produces and represents some of the most appealing Hispanic content as far as Latino Canadians are concerned, covering the full spectrum of genres. So we are very pleased to be able to ensure that the growing Spanish-speaking community in Canada will get to watch this great programming through our various channels of delivery.”
