V-me Debuts at MIPTV with Over 100 Hours of Original Programming

NEW YORK, April 19: The
new U.S. Spanish-language network V-me made its MIPTV debut this week with over
100 hours of original lifestyle, factual and public affairs programs available
to international buyers, including Aire Yoga, The Science of the NewsHour,
Viva Voz
and La Plaza.

V-me, which was created in
partnership with public television, began airing March 5 and aims to bring a
contemporary voice to Spanish-language television.

Aire Yoga, shot in high-definition and wide screen format by
Plural Entertainment, is led by actress and dedicated yoga practitioner Anna
Silvetti who provides instruction and techniques for basic, intermediate and
advanced levels. The Science of the NewsHour, hosted by Emmy-award-winning anchor and producer
Rafael Pi Roman, features science and technology segments from the PBS flagship
series NewsHour that have been
repackaged for the Latino audience. The original interview program Viva Voz features a variety of hosts, newsmakers and
celebrities who engage in discussions about public affairs and social issues
affecting society, with a special focus on Latinos. La Plaza features in-depth interviews with America’s
foremost Latino artists, writers, activists and civic leaders. The series is a
co-production with WGBH/Boston.

“V-me arrived at MIPTV
just six weeks after its on-air debut to launch the broadcast sale and global
expansion of four original series,” said Carmen DiRienzo, the president of
V-me. “For these series and much of our programming we have forged solid
co-production alliances with world-class media partners. We [are] aggressively
seeking additional partnerships with creative and innovative companies that can
work with us to develop additional high-quality, original Spanish-language
programming.”
