Univision Showcases New Season

NEW YORK, May 17: Univision Communications has released its
plans for the 2007-2008 season, announcing a slate of new telenovelas as well
as a series from Jennifer Lopez, among other offerings.

“The intensely passionate connection and powerful level of
engagement that Univision has with its viewers is fundamentally different than
the other networks and unparalleled in the media industry,” said Joe Uva,
Univision’s CEO, in presenting the slate to advertisers.

Ray Rodriguez, Univision’s president and COO, added, “The
heart of Univision’s success is in the top-notch programming found on all three
of our television networks. We connect to our audiences by giving our viewers
the entertainment and information they have come to expect in an atmosphere
that feels like home and nothing proves this more than our recent ratings
success. The Univision Network continues to attract more young adult viewers
than at least one of the Big 4 networks on a regular basis; the TeleFutura
Network has become the #2 Spanish-language network in the country, surpassing
Telemundo; and our cable network, Galavisión, has begun to out deliver
broadcast network Azteca America. We are very excited about our 2007-2008
lineups and we expect them to deliver similarly superior ratings for the
company.”

Prime-time novelas include Pasión, an adventure/love story that takes place during the
swashbuckling pirate era; Muchachitas Como Tú, a youth-skewing show about what girls face today,
from school to friendships to young love; Amar sin Limites, about what some people will do, or won’t do, in the
name of power, money, and love; and Yo Amo a Juan Querendón, the lighthearted tale of a unique, irresistible and
unlikely Don Juan.

The series slate is led by Como Ama una Mujer, created and executive produced by Jennifer Lopez.
The five-part mini-series is inspired by true-life events and based on her
first Spanish-language CD of the same name. It will air weeknights at 10 p.m.
Also on the schedule is Amas de Casa Desesperadas, a Desperate Housewives adaptation with Disney-ABC International Television
Latin America. RBD: La Familia,
for Saturdays at 7 p.m., features the recording group RBD in a unique blend of
fiction and reality. Other series for Univision are El Pantera, 13 Miedos, Objetos Perdidos and S.O.S.
