Universal Channel Asia to Air Jay Leno Show

SINGAPORE: The Jay Leno Show, the highly anticipated variety show set to debut in NBC’s fall lineup, has been given an 11 p.m. slot Monday through Friday in Asia exclusively on Universal Channel.

Universal Channel will air the show within 24 hours of the U.S. broadcast four nights a week. The Friday episode in the U.S. will air every following Monday on Universal. Presented by former Tonight Show host Jay Leno, the series will retain many signature elements such as an opening monologue, comedy skits and well-known segments like "Headlines" and "Jaywalking." A new segment, "Green Car Challenge," will feature celebrities racing around a specially designed track in an environmentally friendly car. A number of Hollywood heavyweights are already lined up to appear on the show, including Jerry Seinfeld, who is expected to do a sit-down interview as well as a stand-up act. Musicians Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West are to appear together on the premiere for a musical performance.

The Jay Leno Show kicks off on Universal Channel on September 15, airing nightly at 11 p.m., excluding the Philippines.
