LONDON: The New Reclaimers, Britain’s Ugliest Rooms and My Flat-Pack Home have been commissioned for the lineup of UKTV’s Home, totaling 30 new hours of programming.

The 5×1-hour The New Reclaimers, from Tern TV, follows Dan Hill and Charis Williams, who use their reclamation techniques to renovate family homes for a fraction of the cost quoted by larger firms. In each home the pair will make over two rooms, along with giving advice to viewers on how to transform spaces on tight budgets.

Britain’s Ugliest Rooms, a 15×30-minute series from Red House, spotlights unsightly interiors. Members of the public send in nominations for the ugliest rooms they know, and host Gordon Whistance will choose which ones deserve a makeover.

From October Films, My Flat-Pack Home returns for a second season. The 20×1-hour show provides a look at the range of kit homes available to buy in the U.K. Host Amanda Lamb follows couples, families and individuals as they decide to go the pre-fabricated route.

Tracy Forsyth, UKTV’s commissioning editor, said: “We are delighted to be working with Red House, October Films and Tern TV, to produce these three new commissions for Home. We believe they will resonate well with our core audience and will help to expand the original content currently featured on the channel.”

Clare Laycock, the interim lifestyle director and head of the Home channel, added: “The commission of these three series highlight Home’s commitment to help show viewers what they can achieve with their homes whether that’s down to a simple décor project, a renovation, or a full on build.”
