UKTV’s Alibi Takes CBS’s Diagnosis Murder

LONDON: UKTV’s crime and drama channel Alibi has picked up all 178 episodes of Diagnosis Murder, the Dick Van Dyke drama that ran on CBS from 1993 to 2001.

Alibi has scored all eight seasons of the show from CBS Studios International. Diagnosis Murder launches on Monday as a daily 4 p.m. strip. The series, which started as a spin-off of Jake and the Fat Man, starred Dick Van Dyke as Dr. Mark Sloane, a medical doctor who helped his son, a homicide detective, solve crimes.

"This high volume deal will allow British crime television fans to watch every episode ever produced of the iconic Diagnosis Murder in one place and will guarantee a fresh supply of new content to our new crime drama channel, Alibi," commented Alexandra Finlay, UKTV’s acting director of content acquisitions.

Alibi’s channel head, Steve Hornsey, added, “Diagnosis Murder will be a fantastic addition to Alibi’s schedule, complementing other classic crime drama series within the daytime schedule which really appeal to our target audience of armchair sleuths.”

Other titles airing on Alibi include Miss Marple, Taggart, Murder She Wrote, Waking the Dead, Silent Witness and New Tricks.
