Five Names New Head of Factual

LONDON, September 13: Five has appointed Channel 4’s Ralph Lee as head of factual.

Since joining Channel 4 in 2002 as deputy head of specialist factual, Lee has been responsible for a range of programming including the BAFTA-nominated series That’ll Teach ‘Em, Worst Jobs in History, Not Forgotten with Ian Hislop and The Real Da Vinci Code. Prior to this, Lee was a freelance producer/director, making one-hour docs and biographies for Channel 4. Before his stint as a freelancer, he worked at the BBC.

On his appointment, Lee commented: “I’m excited at the prospect of joining Five. There’s a real opportunity to build on the channel’s strengths in factual programming and to take on the challenge of opening up new areas for the output.”
