LONDON: Alibi, the crime drama channel from UKTV, has signed on for the exclusive pay-TV rights to season four of the ABC Studios series Castle.

The series will be part of Alibi’s Q1 schedule in 2012 following the success of the previous three seasons. Castle premiered on Alibi in 2010. The series is about a mystery novelist who investigates crimes that imitate his fiction.

Alexandra Finlay, the acquisitions manager at UKTV, said, “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Disney with the acquisition of Castle season four. From season one, Castle has been a hit with Alibi’s viewers, and the show exemplifies UKTV’s aim to secure the best U.S. crime content for the channel.”

Alibi’s general manager, Steve Hornsey, added, "Castle is a hugely successful series for Alibi and has not only broadened the appeal of the channel but also the editorial mix of British and U.S. crime content. With an increased success, series on series, Castle season four is no doubt going to be a continued ratings success.”
