DURBAN/LONDON: Earth-Touch has confirmed presales for six hour-long documentaries to UKTV’s Eden HD for the U.K. and Ireland.

The raft of docs heading to Eden HD include Gannets: The Wrong Side of the Run, along with Diving with Crocodiles, Pride in Battle and Cheetah: Price of Speed, which are all co-produced with Smithsonian Networks. Eden HD has also prebought Lemurs: Phantoms of the Forest and Dolphins: Beauty Before Brains? from Earth-Touch’s portfolio of new documentary programming, which will be debuting at MIPTV.

Adrian Wills, Eden HD’s channel head, commented, “Stylistically, these high-end documentaries are as impressive and awe-inspiring as the blue-chip BBC titles we’re recognized for, so they’ll sit comfortably alongside the likes of Natural World and Life of Mammals when they premiere exclusively on Eden HD in June.”

Chris Fletcher, the director of sales and programming for Earth-Touch, added, “With their proven commitment to this genre, Eden HD is a natural partner for us in the U.K. We bring the highest quality production values to our films and aim to have at least doubled our current output by the end of 2011.”
