UKTV Names New Director of Marketing, Communications

LONDON, November 26: Tom
Lucas has been appointed to the role of director of marketing and
communications for UKTV, effective in January 2008.

Reporting to the network’s
controller, Matthew Littleford, Lucas will be responsible for all marketing and
communications for UKTV’s nine-channel portfolio, online and other commercial
activities.

Lucas comes to the
position from ITV, where he served as the controller of channel marketing and
interactive, charged with running all on- and off-air marketing for ITV’s
digital channels and non-broadcast activities. At ITV, Lucas is credited with
launching the revamp of itv.com and creating new channel brands for ITV 2, 3
and 4, among other things.

“Tom is a fantastic
addition to a great team,” commented Littleford. “His talent and caliber,
combined with his proven track record across a number of major brands, will be
invaluable as we move forward to the next phase of our development and I am
glad he is joining UKTV at such an exciting time.”
