UKTV Food Orders New James Martin Series

LONDON, May 23: UKTV Food
has commissioned Eagle Media Productions to produce James Martin’s French
Road Trip
, a new series that
follows British chef James Martin in his culinary travels across France,
retracing the journey he made as a student chef.

Filmed entirely on
location in France, James
Martin’s French Road Trip
follows
Martin in his Airstream camper van as he travels around the country, sourcing
the best produce from local markets that allow him to indulge in some impromptu
cooking. Martin is joined in his motor home by one of four fellow British
chefs, including the “Hairy Bikers” and Lawrence Keogh, who assist him on his
culinary quest to produce a spontaneous, innovative dish. The chefs start each
day with a visit to a local market, where they sample and buy the freshest
local produce. Food will be prepared at various atypical locations from scenic
beaches to a roadside grassy knoll.

UKTV Food’s channel head,
Richard Kingsbury, said: "This is our sixth collaboration with James, who
has become one of the most popular faces on UKTV Food. Now he’s hitting the
road in this new series, which will remind us just how fabulous French regional
cooking can be, against a backdrop of the country’s most stunning
locations."

James Martin’s French
Road Trip
will be executive
produced by Eagle Media’s managing director, Alan Ravenscroft, alongside Steve
Grizzell, UKTV Food’s commissioning editor for factual and factual
entertainment.
