U.K.’s Bravo Commissions Crime Doc

LONDON, October 26: Virgin Media Television’s male-skewing
channel Bravo has commissioned SMG Productions to produce Lawless Britain, a 3×1-hour documentary series that delves into the
underbelly of crime in the U.K.

Lawless Britain will
appear in Bravo’s late-peak schedule in December. Each week, Lawless Britain
will focus on an aspect of domestic crime existing in the U.K., ranging from
out-of-control feral youths to bare knuckle boxing to underworld dog fights.
Viewers will also hear from criminals, psychologists and victims, who talk
about what it’s like to be part of Lawless Britain. The series will also feature exclusive material,
including footage from a bare-knuckle boxing bout.

David Clarke, the controller of Bravo, Bravo 2, Trouble and
Challenge, commented: “This is core Bravo territory, we know our target
audience and beyond are fascinated with the underbelly of British society. SMG
have unearthed some mind-blowing footage and secured fantastic access to
illustrate some very real contemporary British issues.”
