PARIS: ZDF Enterprises’ (ZDFE) natural-history series Big Pacific will have its world premiere screening at MIPDoc in April.

The screening will be held April 1 at 6 p.m. in the JW Marriott Theatre in Cannes, France. Big Pacific explores the mysteries of the planet’s greatest ocean. The series is made by New Zealand-based NHNZ in co-production with partners from the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia, including PBS, CCTV9, ZDF, ZDF Enterprises, Discovery International, Channel 9 and ARTE.

The four hour-long episodes and the making-of special were shot in 4K HD. ZDF Enterprises is handling worldwide distribution for Big Pacific, which is the first project to result from its partnership with NHNZ.

Alexander Coridass, the president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, said, “Mankind aims to travel to Mars, but how much do we know about our own planet? How much do we know about the biggest and deepest ocean on Earth? Big Pacific will showcase the fascinating beauties and mysteries of marine wildlife still to be explored. We are very proud to launch this epic NHNZ blue-chip series together with our co-production partners at MIPDoc 2017 in Cannes.”

MIPDoc will run April 1 and 2.
