ZDF Enterprises to Rep Kim Jong Un Doc

ZDF Enterprises has signed on to globally distribute the documentary Gold for Kim: A Life for North Korea’s Leader.

Gold for Kim: A Life for North Korea’s Leader was produced by Berlin-based Hanfagarn & Ufer and written and directed by journalist Michael Höft for ZDF and ZDF Enterprises. It looks at sports in North Korea. Höft gained access to North Korea and used the film to portray the contrast between viewers’ expectations of the country and completely new impressions of life under Jong Un. The film uses sport as a vehicle to dig deep behind the facade and show what everyday life is like in the country. It features contributions from the country’s aspiring sports stars

Filming locations included the ski resort and winter sports resort of Masik, Mirim Horse Riding Club, Munsu Water Park, Pyongyang Gymnasium and Changgwang-won Health Complex. Figure skating, ice hockey and football are covered in depth.
