ZDF Enterprises, which co-produced Countdown to Surrender–The Last 100 Days with Spiegel TV, has taken the international distribution rights to the documentary series.

The three-part docuseries, as well as an accompanying 50-minute special, was produced for ZDF.info and ZDF Enterprises. Shedding a light on the apocalyptic weeks before the end of the war in Europe, it traces the last 100 days before the end of the Second World War. The events take place from February 1945 onwards, until Hitler’s suicide on April 30 and the unconditional surrender of the German armed forces on May 8.

Countdown to Surrender–The Last 100 Days features historians Peter Longerich and Antony Beevor, experts Heike Görtemaker and T.G. Otte and young scientists Maren Röger and Mirko Drotschmann, who analyze the historical context and arrange the days along a timeline.
