ZDF Enterprises to Co-Produce Africa from Above

ZDF Enterprises has come on board the new landmark natural-history series Africa from Above, produced by Off the Fence Productions.

The ten-part series is backed by a range of co-producers, with ZDF Enterprises being the lead partner as well as the global distributor. Joining the German distributor on the production are ZDF, South Africa’s Homebrew Films and ARTE, along with Austrian public broadcaster ORF and Britain’s UKTV.

Currently in production and filmed in UHD, the series looks at Africa’s landscapes, cities, people and wildlife by taking cameras to new heights. Weaving through mountains, coastlines, waterfalls and jungles, the 10×52-minute also hovers over cities to explore the history, architecture and industry and looks at unique cultures and how people survive in some of the most extreme locations.
