WaterBear Network has expanded the presence of its linear FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus across Spain and Italy.

Available to Samsung’s smart TV and select Galaxy device users, viewers of the linear channel will have access to WaterBear Network’s original content. The sustainability-focused platform’s FAST channel launched on Samsung TV Plus in the U.K., the Netherlands and Sweden in March.

WaterBear Network is currently available across 194 countries and produces original content that spans biodiversity, community, circularity, climate action and sustainable fashion. It was founded by Ellen Windemuth, the executive producer of the Oscar-winning documentary My Octopus Teacher.

Oliver Taprogge, head of distribution at WaterBear Network, said: “Following our launch in the U.K., the Netherlands and Sweden, we’re delighted to be launching our FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus in Italy and Spain. Content producers, channel owners and device manufacturers must utilize the entire ecosystem to provide audiences with the content they want, where they want. The rise of FAST channels speaks to the change in content consumption. Samsung is at the forefront of this and the perfect partner to ensure our content inspires and educates their viewers.

Taprogge added: “The expansion of this partnership highlights the powerful selection of content on offer and the growing desire of consumers to view content that speaks to their own values. With the WaterBear platform now already available across 194 countries, this European expansion is a major step in sharing the world’s most important social and environmental stories.”
