Hannah Barnes Joins VA Media

VA Media has appointed entertainment media executive Hannah Barnes to the newly created role of director of unscripted content.

Barnes, who ran the Lifestyle bouquet of channels at Foxtel from 2014 to 2019, will lead efforts to build VA Media’s list of unscripted YouTube channels. She will also identify opportunities for VA to create and commission original video content.

Barnes will be based in Sydney and begins her new role on August 23.

In addition to Foxtel, Barnes has previously worked for Sky UK, BBC, Channel 5 and Optus Sport.

Barnes said: “Creating and identifying great content is what I love to do, and I can’t wait to get started.”

VA Media’s CEO Mark Ashbridge added: “I’m thrilled to have someone with Hannah’s expertise come on board to lead the way in creating original content for our growing network of channels and clients.”
