TVF International Secures Deals in CEE

TVF International has inked a raft of deals for its factual content slate with broadcasters across Central and Eastern Europe ahead of NATPE Budapest.

Telewizja Polsat, Česká televize, RTVS, LRT and HRT are among the latest broadcasters that have picked up the returning series Aerial Profiles, made by Skyworks Productions. Telewizja Polsat also acquired Peddling Pictures’ Deciphering South Korea and the second season of Sky Arte’s Hidden Italy.

National Geographic, meanwhile, snapped up the global environmental series Climate for Change, produced by Mediacorp, for its feeds across Poland, Hungary and Romania.

Canal+ in Poland has added over 40 hours of factual programming, including the science documentary Carbon: The Unauthorised Biography from Genepool productions and Handful of Films. NHK Enterprise’s wildlife series Animal Instincts, Eating Plants from Indievillage, Mediacorp’s Food in Our Time, Secret Delicious and In Search of Umami were also part of the package.

Discovery Poland has acquired such current affairs and environmental factual series as Coded Word from Peddling Pictures and Tipping Point: Climate Countdown from Mediacorp, as well as System Shock from Bloomberg TV and How China Got Rich from Maya Vision.

Also in Poland, Michal Winnicki Entertainment licensed more than 50 hours of wildlife and blue-light programming, including two series from Tern TV—Inside the Zoo and Emergency Helicopter Medics—and Ocean Wild, a 4K underwater co-production from TVF International and Tokyovision.

Meanwhile, TRO Distribution licensed a package of 124 hours for Ajara TV, including the RTE-commissioned environmental series Eco-Eye, travel and culture series City Time Traveller and Grand Central Stations. It also acquired the Vision TV-commissioned health series Ageless Gardens and Aerial Profiles.

OBN, a local television network in Bosnia and Herzegovina, took a 125.5-hour package of titles that includes Celebrity Car Wars, SupermodelMe, Dog’s Best Friend, Give Me Shelter and A Dog for Life.

Finally, the Czech commercial free-to-air broadcaster FTV Prima has taken 35 hours of programming, including NHK’s T-Rex: An Evolutionary Journey and the second season of Animal Instincts.
