TVF International Closes Deals in Australia & NZ

Factual distributor TVF International has closed sales with broadcasters across Australia and New Zealand for a raft of historical, culinary, cultural and documentary content.

In New Zealand, TVNZ picked up Bowled Over Media’s Channel 4-commissioned Good Grief, while Sky licensed ZanyBros’ K-pop documentary Mamamoo: Where Are We Now?, which will run on Sky Arts and Neon in the territory. The title was also licensed by SBS in Australia.

Sky also picked up Will’s Book: Shakespeare’s First Folio, which was commissioned by Sky Arts UK; the multidisciplinary BBC arts doc China on Stage; and the architecture and design series Slumbering Concrete from Croatian pubcaster HRT for its Sky Arts channel.

In Australia, SBS acquired a range of titles, including the ZDF/ARTE documentary Marlon Brando: In Paradise, the two-part The Exiles: Secretly Deported and the latest season of the music and travel series Music Voyager. SBS Viceland picked up the taboo-busting relationship series F*ck Berlin.

Following the success of BBC’s Paula Mcintyre’s Hamely Kitchen, SBS Food picked up Paula Mcintyre’s USA, which takes viewers on a culinary road trip. SBS Food also licensed Taiwan Bites, which celebrates Taiwan’s round-the-clock food culture.

Australian pubcaster ABC secured Melbar Entertainment Group’s feature documentary Prosecuting Evil, which explores the life of the last surviving Nuremberg trial prosecutor and one of the Holocaust’s most heroic figures, Ben Ferencz.

BBC Studios picked up Foxtrot Films’ 51-minute Royal Paintbox and the 2×60-minute Queen Victoria’s Letters: A Monarch Unveiled.

BritBox acquired returning franchise Martin Compston’s Norwegian Fling, following the success of the original BBC commission, Martin Compston’s Scottish Fling.
