ATLANTA: As truTV marks the one-year anniversary of its "Way More Fun" brand refresh, the channel has ordered three new prime-time series while renewing two fan favorites and announcing the development of a pair of unscripted shows.

truTV has greenlit Almost Genius, which spotlights people, places and things that are almost successful. The 12-episode show, which comes from Meetinghouse Productions, will premiere on December 29 at 10 p.m. Then there is 10 Things, which features a list-based collection of offbeat topics hosted by Jamie Lee (Girl Code). The 10-parter, made by R83 Productions and Gaspin Media, is due to debut on January 5 at 10:30 p.m. There is also truOriginals: Inside Iconic Comedy, an 8-episode docuseries that goes behind the scenes of some of the funniest movies ever made. The Left/Right production will begin airing on February 29 at 10 p.m.

The network has also renewed the popular shows The Carbonaro Effect and Hack My Life for 13 and 10 half-hour episodes, respectively. In addition, truTV placed a pilot order for Jon Glaser Loves Gear, which sees the titular host explore his passion for gear, and a pilot presentation for Inside Caucasia, a cultural travelogue created by comedians Naomi Ekperigin (Broad City) and Andy Beckerman (The Pete Holmes Show).

"We've come a long way over the past year when it comes to establishing the new truTV brand, and we're experiencing real momentum," said Chris Linn, the president and head of programming at truTV. "These programming moves represent our continued investment in innovative, talent driven shows that can engage our viewers across every platform."

truTV recently announced that it has ordered additional episodes of Fameless and renewed the hit series Impractical Jokers. The channel also launched a brand-new season of Billy on the Street. Early next year will see the debut of the comedy Those Who Can't, truTV's first-ever scripted show.
